The old MapQuest still exists and it is as good as it has always been, even though the new MQ is faster, easier to use, and better looking some people still prefer Mapquest Classic. The classic version of this famous web mapping service allows you to get the same accurate driving directions and the same high quality interactive maps that you can access through the new MQ site, you can also use the “old” site to find businesses, important landmarks, and other cool POIs (points of interest).
The first online mapping service that I used was Map Quest, in fact just a couple of days ago this great web mapping service turned 15 years old, I have been using their mapping and routing software for almost 13 years! I have to admit that when MQ rolled out the new site, I was bit shocked, and I even felt a bit sad. My sadness didn’t last much, soon I realized that they had changed for a reason, and that the service was now even better than it was before. When you have been using something, it can be anything, for a very long period of time you get used to it, as simple as that, so when the new site was introduced a lot of people felt the same way I did, confused.
I’ve always been a loyal user of the Mapquest.com site, most of my friends use this service too, they use it because I made them use it, when they have doubts, or when they need information about the site, they always come to me for help. When the new site was launched all of them were freaking out, they were having the same problems I was having, so they all came looking for me to help them one more time. I love technology and the internet, I have used thousands of applications online, I have a lot of experience with this type of things, throughout the years I have noticed that when a company as big as AOL, with a product or service as big as MapQuest decides to change things up, is always for a good reason. I told my friends to calm down, and I also suggested that they should start exploring the new site to see how it really worked out for them, a couple of hours later most of my friends phoned me up to tell me that I was absolutely right, and that they were now in love with the new Mapquest.com.
Even though most people love the new MQ, some don’t, some of my friends still prefer using Mapquest Classic for maps and directions, and I know that just like my friends there are millions of users around the world that like, prefer, and want to use the “old” Map Quest isntead. Some people don’t know this, but the “old” site is still available on the web, and anyone can use it. If you’re one of those folks that love the old site, visit classic.mapquest.com.

The new Map quest is impossible. Any more tinkering with Map Quest Classic & Next thing I will have to go back to paper road maps.
The new map quest is not easier to use, believe me I have no problem with change. It appears that you are chastizing people who wish to use the “classic” version. The only reason I continue to use the classic version is that it is easier and problem free.

I read all of the above comments and I agree with them, the new mapquest Sucks. They should go back to the way they had it and leave the classic site there. It was and still is better.
I agree with 95% of all people that use Mapquest. THE NEW MAPQUEST SUCKS! wHERE IS THE cLASSIC mAPQUEST?? I hate using the new one., if I can’t find the classic mapquest, I’ll go to Google Maps, or Yahoo Maps, or ANYTHING else.
First of all, I want to say thanks to everyone that joined and contributed something to the discussion. However, I think that most of you overlooked the last link on this page. If you click on that link, you will be automatically redirected to the CLASSIC MAPQUEST site, the old site didn’t disappear, it was simply moved to a sub-domain within MapQuest.com.
I know that there’s a lot of people out there who prefer the old site, believe me, I am one of them. But I don’t stress, because I can still use my preferred version whenever I want to, the only thing that has changed is the URL of the site, so before you leave one of those comments filled with hate, scroll up a bit and click on the last link that you’ll find on this page. That link will take you to where you want to go, then you can come back to this site and +1, like, or tweet this page, or you can simply do it now and save time!

Been using mapquest for years, unless I can go back to classic mapquest, I’ve used it for the last time. It was perfect, now it is a mess

New Mapquest cuts out steps when I print the directions. I unfortunately discovered this when over 50 miles from home. I have to handwrite missing steps in my printed directions, with no maps to correlate.
The new map quest is terrible cannot print will not give total miles and it is impossible if you want to have more than one destination or plan a round trip
I agree, the new mapquest is worthless. Who’s bonehead idea was it to change it. I deal with many, many people who used to deal with mapquest, and have switched to Google. Looks like I’m following suit. I am amazed that the mapquest folks have allowed jacked up site to continue. Someone is asleep at the wheel. I’ve talked to NO ONE, who finds it useful anymore. What a shame.

The new mapquest is TERRIBLE. Why have that giant map on the side when you get local directions? Can you make that a choice? It is really, really BAD!

I was in a hurry, and my text directions were not correct, and only printed part of the text.
That OK if mapquest doesn’t want or need our business anymore.
Another web site will come to pick-up mapquests SLAKE or LACK OF!!!
