Mapquest Mexico is a lot better than what I thought, if you are a regular on this site, you have probably heard me say that Mapquest’s international coverage is not as good as it is in the States and Canada. MapQuest Europe Driving Directions and Maps

I finally had the chance to use Mapquest Europe, that’s the reason why the site has been kind of inactive for a couple of days, the whole Driving Directions crew, including I, were invited by a French online mapping company that wants to team up with us in order to create a unique mobile mapping application that provides accurate driving directions as well.

Since we already are a well established website, and because we are known as a reputable source of mapping news and information, the French investment group thought that it would be a good idea to make a joint venture with us, because that way their product will be exposed to more people.

That’s enough talk about things that don’t really matter, what matters is that we had the chance to travel across many European countries by car, and during that process we had the chance to find out if Mapquest for Europe was really as good as some people said.

I’m the kind of guy who thinks that web products and services only work well in North American countries, I’m always skeptic about what International costumers say, I’m only convinced when I try those things for myself. In this case European users were right, Map Quest Europe works almost as well as it does in the States, there are some things that might be missing and there are some areas where the coverage is just not that good. However, those things that are missing don’t even matter, because to be honest I don’t use them as much as the driving directions feature.

Mapquest driving directions Europe are great, they are probably just as accurate as they are in the USA and Canada, the best part is that you can create very efficient routes to go from one country to another. Our trip to Europe was really one big fun road-trip, we were in Paris for just a couple of days, then we started moving from one place to another nonstop, our goal was to make the most out of our stay there, we wanted to explore and discover the “old” continent as much as we could, and so we did!

Mapquest Europe provides turn by turn directions, interactive maps with satellite view, map view, layers, etc, and other cool features that are also available in North America. MapQuest Puerto Rico – Maps, Directions, Ratings, and More!

For those of you who didn’t know, Mapquest is also available at Puerto Rico. To be honest, I thought that I’d only find maps at the site, I didn’t think that driving and walking directions would be available, but I was wrong. Map Quest does not only grant you access to free directions and maps in PR, mQvibe and other cool features work there too! Just in case you didn’t know, MQ Vibe provides neighborhood rankings of places and businesses, for example, you can find the top rated restaurants in Catano or Bayamon (see image below).

To activate mQvibe in Puerto Rico, first you have to map a specific location, for example, type “San Juan PR” in the search box, once the map of San Juan is displayed click on the “neighborhoods” tab that’s located near the right corner of your screen, check the “on current map” option, when you enable that option all the neighborhoods in SJ will be highlighted on the map automatically, then all you have to do is click on a highlighted area and the software will instantly launch the mQvibe feature.

Mapquest driving directions are known to be very accurate, if you are in Puerto Rico, and you are also a driver, then the driving directions feature is something that you have to use, it will always help you find the best route to go from one place to another. Don’t forget that you can also get walking directions, so if you don’t have a car, and you also like to walk a lot, then this service will be very beneficial for you as well.

Mapquest Nairobi Kenya

I thought that Mapquest Nairobi Kenya didn’t exist, but turns out that I was wrong like almost always. Map Quest does work in Kenya, but I have to admit that the service is still very limited, users only have access to maps, and their maps only provide satellite and classic map view, maps show labels, and that’s pretty much it.

Mapquest Nairobi does not offer driving directions, walking directions, biking directions, or transit directions, in fact, they still haven’t added Kenya to the Open Street Map project. It seems like AOL has forgotten about this great location, don’t you think it would be fun to be able to get directions and explore 360 images of Kenyan cities? I do!

Well, at least they provide a really high quality map of Nairobi in Kenya, you can use the map to explore Kenya and nearby cities, other than that, there’s practially nothing else to do there.
