We have tested hundreds of route planners and driving directions services, when I say hundreds, I really mean it, I’m not exaggerating or anything, I’ve used the TomTom route planner, Waze, Garmin GPS, Rand McNally’s Intelliroute GPS system, and I could keep going for hours talking about the services that I’ve used. Although GPS services are great, I also think that they are very expensive, I prefer using free online mapping services instead, like Yahoo Maps and Bing Maps for example, which are very interesting sites that pack a lot of power, but I truly believe that Google and Mapquest driving directions are simply the best!
From now on you will be able to create efficient routes using the Google Maps route planner, which is by far our favorite. Mapquest is probably just as good, but we find the Google Maps API easier to use and that’s why we are using it here.
